Here is an example of how you can turn a run down shed into a habitable room.

In June of 2018 Tuggeranong Building Service had the pleasure of creating more room for a growing family in Ainslie.

We discussed the options of turning an old run down shed into a room that could be used as an office. We were able to keep the original cladding and frames. We poured a new concrete floor inside the old shed as we needed to prevent water ingress into the building, 100mm of reinforced concrete helped to solve this problem.

The roof and gutters required replacing as they were getting close to the end of there life span. We decided to remove the entire roof and replaced the existing rafters with laminated timbers lined with v jointed pine. We removed the panel lift door and replaced it with a second hand timber door unit and windows that suited the project.

The internal walls were lined with insulation and lined with the v jointed pine.

New lighting and power points were installed as well as a split heating and cooling system.

We turned a leaking, unusable shed into a delightful workspace.
